Julianna Lino
Julianna Lino is a multi-talented and professionally trained actor, dancer, and singer who recently graduated from the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts with an associate's degree in film and TV acting. Beginning in the world of dance, Julianna found a deep love for performing, a passion that soon expanded to acting and singing.
Julianna was born and raised in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts where she began studying dance at the age of 2. At 7 she started her competitive dance career and continued until she graduated from high school in 2019. While attending various local studios including the ballet conservatory at the Hanover Theater in Worcester, she was trained on a professional level in numerous dance styles including tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, ballroom, modern, and musical theater, personally studying under choreographers Billy Griffin and Michale Keefe. Julianna had an extremely successful dance career winning numerous titles including, Jump Dance convention’s VIP Senior scholarship twice, 24Seven Dance’s Non-Stop Dancer scholarship, and Hall of Fame Dance Challange’s Solo Inductee Winner. She performed in the opening number of the Rockette’s National Tour at the Wang Theater in Boston, MA, and most notably was also a member of the American Tap Company and competed at the World Tap Dance Championships in Riesa, Germany where she and Team USA won the Silver Medal.
Throughout her dance training, she was also given the opportunity to choreograph pieces herself. Her favorite piece she created was her senior contemporary solo “ I'll Be Seeing You” which received numerous choreography awards throughout the competition season.
In High School, while juggling her competitive dance career, school work, and student government serving as class president, Julianna found theater. Musical theater and tap had always been the things she loved most about dance, but once she began participating in the school musicals she found that acting was something she loved just as much. The very first show she participated in was Into The Woods in her junior year where she played Florinda. Her school also had a touring theater company that would perform children's shows at local elementary schools which she also participated in, playing various roles in the science-centric musical The Science of Stuff. In her senior year of high school, she was Morticia Addams in The Addams Family, a role that was very near and dear to her heart as it not only let her sing lead for the very first time but also was a part filled to the brim with dance. This experience solidified her desire to participate in theater and led her to discover a new passion for acting.
Julianna attended college at the Lubin School of Business at Pace University in Manhattan where she achieved a BBA with a concentration in arts and entertainment management. This major covered the vastness of the entertainment industry but Julianna chose to focus her studies in theater and film. Much of her studies focused on the work of casting departments and prior to graduating summa cum laude she presented her honors thesis ‘“Our Own Little Miss Marvel’ - The Impact of Casting Director Sarah Halley Finn on the Most Successful Film Franchise of All Time: the Marvel Cinematic Universe” under the guidance of thesis advisor Patrick Goodwin. After spending nearly 4 years diving into the film industry from the business end, Julianna's desire to perform fueled her next adventure.
After graduating early from Pace University Julianna attended the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts where she pursued an associate's degree in film and TV acting starting in the spring of 2023. Here Julianna trained in the Meisner technique under the guidance of Eve Bianco, Jason Liebman, Alan Rackham, Maury Ginsburg, Steve Perlmutter, Daniel Cohen, Naima Warden, Sara Buffamanti, Colleen Gleason, Mike Walsh, Lane Binkley, and Kyle Norris. She participated in the capstone of her degree "final reel" where she collaborated with director Alan Rackham and 186 Productions to build a scene filmed on a professional set and presented during a showcase at graduation. She was also a part of numerous NYCDA's New Media student's final student films including Peanuts directed by Tay Cromwell. Julianna ended her time at school performing Shakespeare's A Winter's Tale directed by Eve Bianco and Daniel Cohen leading the company as Hermione.
Post graduation, Julianna continues her training in dance, voice, and acting while also working as a fitness instructor for Pure Barre. She most recently was involved in a workshop of “Spring Awakening” by playwright Frank Wedekind as Ilse and sang as a company member in the cabaret From Barre to Stage: The Tallent of Pure Barre NYC at The Green Room 42 in New York.
